CATFIS 2.1 automatic EAF temperature and sampling manipulator has been successfully commissioned at EMIRATES STEEL (UAE).
EMIRATES STEEL is a leading integrated steelmaker with the capacity to produce 3.5 million tons, supplying rebar, wire rod and heavy section products within the UAE and to export markets including Europe, America, the Subcontinent, Asia and the Middle East and North Africa.
The CATFIS 2.1 operates through the EAF slag door. It is a multiple 4 axis manipulator in order to achieve flexibility and compactness. It can be fitted in constrained and confined areas, has total control of movement and adaptive trajectories. It is easily maintained, and tailored for the harsh steelmaking environment and multitasking operations.
CATFIS 2.1 is part of the Zeromenaround technological packages designed to eliminate manned activities on the EAF melting floor.
